Introduction
Welcome to the official Keysight preset gallery!
This page is not ideal for displaying large amounts of images and preset download links from different users, but the Wiki is probably the best location for this repository at the moment.
Use the left-hand navigation to jump to a particular section or user, and use the "Download⬇" button under the image/video to grab the .KSpreset
file!
Warning
These presets are not vetted for performance and may run significantly slower than the default presets. They are also typically targeted at the Ultra graphics preset, and may utilise Multiply
mode Light bar gradients(*) not available on MacOS. Your mileage may vary.
How to import .KSpreset
files
Simply click the IMPORT
button in the top left of Keysight, and navigate to the downloaded .KSpreset
file!
If any images are highlighted in red due to an image of the same name already being present, importing the preset will trigger a texture reload and may cause Keysight to freeze for a couple of seconds.
Downloading and installing this entire gallery
Unfortunately, there is no way of importing multiple .KSpreset
files at once. However, a .KSpreset
file is simply a wrapper around the source .JSON
preset file and any custom images used by the preset that installs those files to the correct location.
As such, it is possible to copy and paste and entire archive of presets and images into your save data in one go!
- Grab this
.zip
containing every preset in this gallery.⬇ (Does not contain bottom-up variants / templates) - Navigate to your save data for Keysight. This can be done by clicking the folder icon in the top left by "Presets", and then going back up one level. Save data is typically located:
-
- Windows: C:/Users/
[you]
/Appdata/Local/Keysight/Saved/
- Windows: C:/Users/
-
- MacOS: Library/Application Support/Epic/Keysight/Saved/
- Make sure Keysight is closed.
- Enter the
.zip
file, and drag all folders across to the save data location such that the folders merge. - Launch Keysight
- Enjoy all the new presets!
Hall of Fame
These presets are hand-picked by me, Egglyberts, according to whatever I think best showcases novel or highly tuned Keysight implementations. These are not necessarily "the best presets"! By all means, continue browsing this gallery beyond this point.
Raindrops (by Shyked)
Download⬇ | Alternate, bottom-up variant⬇
This preset foregoes note objects and note lights in favour of aesthetics. The rain and splashes are built out of particles, and the ripple is a vertically-squished pulse. The initial raindrop has velocity-dependent vertical path stretching, influencing the termination position (and also is -0.25 seconds time-offset so it occurs before the splash. There is a variant to work in bottom-up layout mode that instead uses a stretched instant pulse for the raindrop). Splash particles and the ripple are then carefully matched using Y-location-by-velocity settings.
DDR (by Egglyberts)
Download⬇ | Alternate, bottom-up variant⬇
This preset uses highly customised pulses to fake the look of a rhythm game! Minimum-velocity midi events give a "miss" response, max velocity gives "perfect!!", anything in between gives a random response.
Dark Water (by Skaploony)
This preset uses a combination of pulses and reflections(*) to mimic the effect of "caustics" (light lensing to create a pattern of light and shadow).
Sakura (by Shyked)
This preset uses one texture as the emissive(*), always-visible layer containing the branches, and then a second petals-only texture for the base colour. This allows note lights to illuminate and reveal the underlying base colour(*) as they travel! Also uses velocity-driven note material fill, ambient petal particles, and very tasteful piano highlighting and shadowing.
Resources and templates
These presets do not showcase "impressive visuals", but are intended to act as a starting point for further development of commonly-requested Keysight implementations.
Note Labels
WARNING: This preset is configured for stock Core > Layout settings with a 16:9 Keysight window. Desync will occur on non-stock setups.
Full guide on usage available here, but the short version: uses pulses to display a pitch label from a sprite sheet based on note index(*), which then travels with a path identical to a note object. It is intended to activate and copy the correct sharps/flats/up/down pulse slot into your target preset rather than build from this preset.
Keyboard Labels
This preset uses a texture to show labels on the virtual keyboard, with cut-outs on the keypress material to ensure the label is not obscured by notes.
Horizontal Scrolling
This preset showcases using Manual Layout(*) mode to rotate the Keysight view to be horizontal, similar to a traditional MIDI roll in a DAW. It is intended to be in Advanced menu mode(*) and copy the Core settings from this preset onto the global settings used by other presets.
Activity Glow
WARNING: Not available on MacOS.
First executed by Shyked in this video, this preset attempts to act as a template for modifying backdrop brightness based on current activity simulated across the piano. This allows for showing intensity as scene brightness, which is a very unique and advanced implementation of Keysight's feature-set. Relies on two images and a multiplicative light bar. Text, nor a static image, properly explain what this preset does; watch the video and pay close attention to the backdrop! Hail Froglord.
R/G/B Gradient
WARNING: Not available on MacOS.
Light bars can alter their hue based on position, but only within the H/S/V colour space. This preset uses two fading-out Multiply
gradient light bars to blend between two colours without passing through the intervening hue space between those colours.
Mask
This preset highlights any opaque elements in Mask Mode as pure white, and has pure black everywhere else. This is intended to facilitate compositing (placing other videos "under" Keysight). See this guide for detailed information surrounding this preset and process.
Gallery
Egglyberts
Achromatic
Make sure anti-aliasing is enabled under Graphics for the best visual results. Uses local-core settings.
Autumn
Candy
Originally an older default preset, showcasing improved layering (at the time).
Circles and Smoke
WARNING: Not available on MacOS.
Made as an exercise to copy the style of this video.
Egg Hole
Made for Grazloth's channel point redemption. Possibly the most awful preset ever made. Particles are black-hole-y.
Flirt
Made for Oxizealot's channel point redemption. Very silly preset throwing roses from one of my emotes. Including it here for completeness.
GrazzyChanUwU
Made for Grazloth's channel point redemption. Yes, the tentacles are made out of my face, and the whole thing is awful.
Laser
Originally an older default preset, edited to use some more modern Keysight features like Reflections.
Opulent
Ori
Spaghetti
Originally built as a joke, but ended up looking kinda cool. Point-based force on string-y particles with a tiny bit of vector field influence.
Star Conflicts
Uses local Core settings, make sure anti-aliasing is enabled for best results.
Synthesia
Download (split)⬇ | Download (blue)⬇ | Download (green)⬇
Intended to match the default Synthesia view we all know and love. The "split" variant has blue on the left side of the piano, green on the right. Pure blue and green variants also present, and it is intended to use channel-to-preset mapping to properly utilise them.
Synthwave
Walmart Pietschmann
This was an attempt at copying Patrik Pietschmann's signature style at the request of Discord. It did not go well, but it did still yield a cool preset!
More creators coming soon!
Note
I have a mountain of great presets from Shyked and Skaploony especially, but adding as many gallery presets as possible will likely be the icing on the cake for the Wiki rather than an immediate focus!
